Drink Factory Simulator Recipe Discovery Checklist

A practical log so winning ratios survive the chaos of night shifts and co-op chatter.

Recipe Checklist

Drink Factory Simulator wants you to discover recipes yourself in Analysis Mode. That is the fun — and the amnesia risk. This checklist page gives you a repeatable way to capture what worked, what failed, and which formulas deserve precious line time. It complements the narrative guide on Recipe Discovery without dumping a spoiler encyclopedia of every future SKU.

Remember the iron rule: ingredient ratios must total 100%. Close enough is not enough when the mixer refuses a batch or quality tanks mid-order.

Why a checklist beats memory

Between day/night cycles, workers asking for attention, repair beeps, and delivery timers, your brain will drop digits. Co-op makes it worse — someone calls a ratio in voice chat and nobody writes it down. Use this page (or a copy in your notes app) as the crew’s book of record. Research leads from Co-op Setup own the pen.

Session header (copy each night)

  • Date / save name:
  • App used: Prologue 4738020 / Demo 4341340 / Main 3913840
  • Solo or co-op (list friends):
  • Goal tonight: (example: “lock two sodas, retire one failure”)

Per-recipe card template

Copy one block per experiment:

  1. Working name — Temporary label (“Citrus Fizz A”).
  2. Ingredient breakdown — Each component with percentage; confirm sum = 100%.
  3. Analysis Mode result — Pass / fail / unstable.
  4. Line reproduction — Did the production mixer match the lab result?
  5. Order fit — Which order types accept it; any lateness caused?
  6. Margin gut-check — Ingredients cost vs payout (detail later in Economy Planner).
  7. StatusTesting / Line-ready / Retired.
  8. Notes — Spill behavior, worker confusion, night demand, co-op callouts.

Discovery workflow to pair with the cards

  1. Enter Analysis Mode with a hypothesis, not pure chaos.
  2. Adjust toward 100% in deliberate steps; record each serious attempt.
  3. On a pass, immediately reproduce on the live line from Production Line.
  4. Ship through Orders and Deliveries before celebrating.
  5. Only then mark Line-ready and consider upgrades on Upgrade Priority Hub.

If reproduction fails, the card stays Testing. Lab success without line success is a trap that empties wallets.

Early-game checklist priorities

From Early Game Priority and Getting Started:

  • Lock one reliable starter drink before inventing five.
  • Add a second SKU only when the first survives a full day/night.
  • Retire formulas that pass Analysis but lose money every shipment.
  • Avoid “forever testing” lists — cap active experiments at two during week one.

Prologue’s first four levels are ideal for practicing this discipline with lower stakes.

Mid-game expansion rules

When the factory grows:

  • Tag recipes by machine needs (special filler? extra packing?).
  • Link each Line-ready drink to a machine spend note from Machine Upgrades.
  • When roadmap content adds ingredients later (Roadmap), start new cards — do not overwrite old winners blindly.

Planned later systems (retail store, open-world trucks to port/airport) may change which SKUs matter. Keep cards dated so you know which meta they belonged to during Early Access (Agosto Game Studio / PlayWay, EA targeted August 13, 2026, ~6–12 months).

Co-op annotation tips

  • Research lead speaks percentages slowly once, then types them.
  • Line lead confirms reproduction with a “match” call.
  • Dock lead marks whether orders loved or hated the SKU.
  • Nobody deletes a card without a Retired reason.

Failure log (do not skip)

Keep a short hall of shame:

  • Ratio sum errors (99% / 101% oops).
  • Ingredients that always clash in your experience.
  • Drinks that jam a specific conveyor segment.
  • SKUs that sell but destroy repair uptime.

Failures teach faster than another vague “try more sugar” attempt.

What this checklist will not do

  • Publish official cheat codes — there are none.
  • Replace learning Analysis Mode — discovery is the core fantasy.
  • Guarantee Steam patch immunity — verify oddities after notes on Updates Hub and Early Access.

Print the templates, duplicate them digitally, or paste them into your Discord pin. The factory will keep inventing new problems; your recipe book should not invent new amnesia.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about recipes, factory lines, and Early Access.

Do ratios really need to total 100%?

Yes. Analysis Mode expects ingredient ratios that add up to 100%. Record every component so you can reproduce the pass on the line.

Should I write down failed recipes?

Absolutely. A failure log prevents repeating dead ends and teaches clash patterns faster than memory alone.

How many recipes should I keep active early?

One line-ready starter plus at most one experiment is enough in week one. Expand after deliveries feel stable.

Can co-op partners share one checklist?

Yes — make Research lead the owner and require Line/Dock confirmations before marking a recipe line-ready.

Will you publish every official formula?

No. The game is built around discovering recipes yourself. This page is a tracking system, not a spoiler dump.
